Racing Fans, you still have time!

This year general admission tickets have been added to make one of the newest premier racing events affordable. Come to beautiful Valencia, Spain and experience this event on August 23, 2009 with practice rounds marked for August 21st and 22nd.

The Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe’s Valencia Street Circuit has made an extraordinary effort this year to focus on its fans. Last year (1st year for the race) the concentration was in “sportive and safety areas”, according to Jorge Martinez Aspa, Vice President of Valmor Sports, sponsor of the race. “This year our aim is to offer major comforts to the fans.”

The plan is 3-fold: Location, Location, Location …

Some of the viewing stands will remain where they were last season but all will be raised at least one metre; The bleachers near the Marlvarrosa Beach have been relocated to areas for better viewing of the tracks. The stands at the end of the finish straight will have special access to the braking area and will feature wheelchair access, as was the case last year. The third and newest location change is the General Admission Area that boasts a direct view of the track as well as shopping, food and beverage services. Tickets for this area will be sold based on the day: $42 for Friday viewing, $69.50 for Saturday tickets and $142 for Sunday. All other tickets prices mirror last year’s sales. The most expensive tickets are around $665 and prices vary from the top price to $270 for seats and access to the 3-day event. Prices directly correlate with viewing and the experience. Most expensive tickets include the principal areas where the pit garages, the paddock and the end of the straight stands are located. Sailboats and yachts are allowed to moor and view the race from the water. The local marina also has erected a special grandstand.

The race runs along the old river bed of the Turia and the city’s waterfront. Cars race up to speeds of 200 mph and last year, more than half a million people were in attendance. The circuit is 3.4 miles long and includes 25 curves slithering along the city’s harbor.

Valencia also supports the Regional Exposition (opened on June 5, 2009). Delta Airlines launched non-stop service to the city so all can enjoy the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, a new ‘immersion zoo’ and a scenic waterfront filled with restaurants, bars and clubs. Events galore continue throughout the summer months, delighting all who visit.

Take yourself or the whole family. Valencia 2009 is staging events for everyone!

All the tickets will be on sale simultaneously at Servientrada Bancaja (telephone ticket service) on (+ 34) 902 11 55 77, or at the El Corte Ingles department stores all over Spain and via the internet at www.valenciastreetcircuit.com as of February 24th 2009 at 10:00 am. Kittie Beletic loves to drive. She once got a speeding ticket for going 102 in a 75. Of course, she was 21 years old at the time, late for work and it WAS her birthday. The officer believed her story and reduced the speed to 85. She never drove that fast again, but she wanted to. Have a good story idea? Contact Kittie at kbeletic@gmail.com
