Women and their Jeeps

by Rochelle Brown

I remember a time – in the early 70s - when a lady would not be caught dead in a Jeep. It was thought of as a rough, rugged guy car. Ready for a rough and dirty ride off road somewhere.  No top. No sides.  Just lots and lots of wind.  And most of all, many women thought of them as being dangerous in an accident.

Well, Jeep, you’ve come a long way, baby!!!

The new 2010 Jeeps are here and what woman wouldn’t want one?  Jeep has broadened its Lineup in 2010 with three new models that are especially appealing. They are the Liberty Renegade, the Wrangler Islander and the Jeep Wrangler Mountain.  Each Jeep has its own theme and is available in a number of “female friendly” named colors such as Brillant Black Crystal Pearl, Stone White and Bright Silver Metallic.  All of the body styles seem to be a little relaxed and less rigid to the eye.

Women have changed a lot over the last 30-40 years and so have the cars.  The good looking outsides and the roomy interiors make for a very comfortable ride and very convenient for shuffling children around or going out for a night on the town.

The Jeep Wrangler Mountain Edition is expected out the second quarter of 2010. It will have 32-inch tires and great wheel, grille and bumper appliqués.  Two door or four door models will be available.

The Jeep Liberty boasts a 3.7 liter V-6 engine for plenty of power but best of all it will offer what the Jeep Brand was first known for – and open-air experience. It has an industry exclusive Sky Slider which is a full length open-canvas roof.  This could really be fun!

So, girls – and guys – have a little blast from the past with everything you could ask for today.  Test driving a new Jeep is a must-do.  You’ll love it!
