The Terrain can wear as many hats as I do

Imagine a car that could carry five passengers--making you very popular for carpools. A car with a trunk that can carry soccer equipment, a months worth of groceries and lots of luggage.  A car that is kind of like a little black dress--it works well everywhere where you are out on the town for an evening or driving away for a weekend at a lake house. And it has to do all this while being easy to drive and park.

Your fantasy is a reality with the GMC Terrain. And it doesn't just work as your perfect set of wheels, it also has as much style as you do. I impressed a male friend I was having dinner with by driving up in a black metallic Terrain that seemed to sparkle.  The Terrain I drove had black and gray two tone leather with subtle red stitching. When he said, "really classy", I kind of knew he was talking about the vehicle since he is a car fanatic.

I loved that it was easy to park and back up because of the rearview camera system. And I always love a car that has OnStar.  OnStar is like having a friend with a great sense of direction sitting beside you. Okay, I confess to being a princess. I like OnStar better than a Nav system because I change my mind in the middle of a trip without having to stop and program in a new destination.

When I was driving this car, a friend and I wanted to try a new Thai restaurant. As a journalist, I had received a press release about "Three Thai and a white guy." We knew  about where it was but did not realize it was not open yet. A patient OnStar service advisor helpful and patiently gave us the name of all the Thai restaurants in the area. She did a lot better than the concierge at the W and the other people we asked en route.

Finally we stumbled on the restaurant. It was called Naga Thai Kitchen & Bar. And when we went to the door and questioningly asked " Three Thai and a white guy?' he smiled, and said "Two Thai and a white guy."

Here we were, a black chick and a white chick trying to find three Thai and a white guy. With a GPS we would have given up.

I thought this car was the almost perfect driving experience. But it took me a week of driving it to realize that you had to push the electronic key for trunk TWICE to get it to open automatically. Otherwise, it was a bit heavy to lift. My dining gentleman companion thought the fenders looked like they were bolted on as an afterthought. Men look at fenders and rear ends. Women are more interested in trunks and interiors.

A few other reasons to love the Terrain are

Fuel economy

Leather appointed seats with heated front bucket seats

Remote keyless entry

Remote Keyless start

5 year/100,000 mile Power train Limited Warranty

Theft Deterrent System
