I saved twice as much with the Ford Hybrid Escape

But the recent rise in gas prices has put a little crimp in my shopping style.
When I brought a "bargain" to my most practical friend and proudly told her it
only cost eight dollars, she seemed unimpressed. Instead she asked, "how much
did the gas cost you?" I carefully calculated the 44 mile round trip. It added
up to $11 for gas.
Honestly, until then I didn't think too much about the cost of gasoline in my
shopping equation. In my own car, I get reasonable mileage and until recently
gas was always under two dollars. When it got over four dollars, it was time for
me to stop and reconsider.
I considered three options
1. Drive less
2. Shop less

could get 34 miles in the city and 31 miles per gallon on the highway. At four
dollars a gallon, the savings added up quickly. In fact I figured I could use
the money I saved on gas to shop more.
The end result, I doubled my pleasure and doubled my savings. And the huge trunk

might buy several for family and friends and a spare for me.."just in case"
