My Uncle and the Land of Lincoln

by Madelyn Miller, the TravelLady

My uncle Nat was a very dapper gentleman. Each year when the new Lincoln models came out, he would trade in the previous years model for a new one. And then he would drive around to each of the relatives so they could admire his new Lincoln. My brother and I always thought of it as the new car ritual.

The only other thing I associated with Lincoln was the President.

How times have changed. I can't think of anyone who proudly gets a new car each year. This is the era of recycling and things that last a long time are "prized" for their quality and durability. And as Obama leads us through tough times, often referring to Lincoln, I always remember my uncle's version of thrifty. Uncle Nat would drive out to our house around dinner time several nights each week. Of course my mother generously invited them to stay for dinner.

Today's value and Lincoln

Back to Lincoln and today's values. Nowadays people look for value and durability. Manufacturers offer much longer warranties and safety features we never even thought of. And everyone is concerned with emission standards

The Lincoln MKX AWD addresses all these needs with style.

Powertrain/70,000 miles / 72 months/Part of New Vehicle Limited Warranty

Our Nation needs to be Secure

And I want to feel that way, too. Here are some standard security features on Lincoln MKX AWD

Anti-Theft & Locks

And after a week of driving the Lincoln MXK around, I know I would never want to trade it in.
