Taurus is the perfect BFF car

by Madelyn Miller, the TravelLady

I have known Anne for about 15 years. She has managed one of my favorite stores, California Girl for all of that time. So she knows my shopping habits and lifestyle.

Anne has worked in the same industry for the same company as long as I have known her. I was an advertising agency owner when I met her. Then I went on to be a motivational speaker, a Voodoo Queen (I manufactured Sadam Husein voodoo dolls during the Gulf War) Then I made other political dolls until I started reviewing restaurants for three different publications.

One weekend, another journalist invited me on a travel “press trip” to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. That was my professional AH HAH moment. I discovered that destinations would pay your expenses and entertain you if you would write stories about them. I have one skill. It is writing. So this was the perfect career path for me.

Moving forward with the Internet

I started www.travellady.com  and was off to discover the world. Anne stayed involved in my life by finding “travel clothes” that were inexpensive, easy to wash, and did not wrinkle. She loved hearing stories of exotic destinations. But she really went nuts when I started reviewing cars.

Anne is an automotive girl. She could not wait until I came to the store (usually on Saturday) She would run out to see what I was driving. Often I asked if she could take a picture of me in the trunk. She was happy to help. Each week she admired and commented on the cars and was thrilled when I started www.carladynews.com

A trunk big enough for Two Shoppers

When I drove up with the Taurus, she had a big smile on her face. When I handed her the camera she commented that we could both fit in the trunk. But I wondered who would take our picture?    Anne is a take charge kind of girl. She quickly recruited a customer to take a picture of us both in the trunk. As we climbed in, a crowd gathered around. Anne joked with everyone and told them I was a “best customer”, and I had finally found a car with a trunk big enough for all my acquisitions. It was sort of like a college stunt of squeezing people in a phone booth.

Note: It was not as easy for the two of us to get out as it was for us to get in. Do not try this at home with two people unless you practice first, or one is as nimble as Anne.

Beyond the Taurus Trunk

The trunk is every shopper’s fantasy. I could fill it with bags of fashion bargains and sill have room to go to the grocery store for necessities.

But the Taurus is much more than a trunk on wheels.

Here are some features I would share with my BFF. (or maybe she will just get her own Taurus)

Clearly, the designers thought outside the ordinary sedan box. Instead, they focused on the details and sculpted an athletic profile that is perpetually poised. Exterior mirrors flow purposefully from the doors. Lines convey power and agility. Incandescent tail lamps pick up those same lines and race you around the rear. It’s all meant to pull you inside where there are countless reasons to never get out.

An Obsession with Details

You’ll notice the attention to detail the moment you get in. Available multi-contoured seats provide a therapeutic massage to help reduce driving fatigue. The center stack flows into the armrest console at a perfectly driver-oriented 38º angle, the controls illuminated by Ice Blue™ Lighting. While available leather-trimmed climate-controlled front seats and adjustable ambient lighting with seven colors and five dimmers let you get the environment just right . This was designed to be a driver’s car, from those lumbar-massaging, fatigue-reducing, nerve-stimulating seats on out.

How this story ends

As big as the Taurus trunk is, after I went shopping, there was only room for one person. Me. I share lots of things--but I need my own toothbrush and my own space.
