Vintage car rally on the Austrian ring road

A rolling museum will be on display on the Vienna ring road on September 5,2009. The Agip Rally di Vienna presents more than 200 vehicles and  100 years of automotive history with participants from 12 nations and more than 50 different makes of car. 

It all begins at Schloss Wilhelminenberg.  At 9.00 am the participants go their separate ways: the vintage cars take a shorter route, while the sports cars set off to conquer the Wiener Höhenstrasse and the Vienna Woods.

Then at  2.00 pm , more than 10,000 enthusiastic motor fans are expected in the centre of Vienna at the Vintage Car Festival on Heldenplatz next to the Vienna Imperial Palace. (RED CAR RALLY) At 3.00 pm, the starting flag goes down for the great Vienna Circuit: Magnificent buildings such as the parliament, stock exchange und opera form the  backdrop on the ring road . Other attractive stops along the way are in front of Schloss Belvedere and in the Vienna Prater - the grand final will be celebrated in front of the giant ferris wheel beginning at  6.00 pm.
