Launches Driving Itineraries around Scotland

Forget about using a basic GPS as a navigation tool when touring a European country. How about having reigning IndyCar Series Champion, Dario Franchitti as your personal guide around his native Scotland?

Franchitti is helping drive visitors to his homeland by joining forces with Scotland’s national tourism organization to launch his series of “Great Drives,” three car-touring itineraries (four to eight-day options) around some of Scotland’s most amazing landscapes.

“Dario Franchitti’s Great Drives" will take you:

From the dramatic coastlines of the West Coast to the lochs of Far North Scotland

From the rolling hills of Inverness and the Highlands to Scotland’s cultural capital, Edinburgh

Around the South of Scotland to explore historic Glasgow and centuries-old castles

Stop and Admire the View

Written by Dario, these detailed routes encourage visitors to ‘stop and admire the view over Loch Lomond,’ ‘hop on the bridge over the sea to Skye,’ and ‘tale the time to see Cape Wrath.’  By following these itineraries, visitors will see Scotland’s most breathtaking views, experience the country’s rich history and share in Dario’s favorite pastime – driving around Scotland. Additionally, Arnold Clark car and van rental is offering a special rate of $30 US (subject to exchange rate) per day for rentals, a savings of 20%.

Now a resident of Tennessee and married to Hollywood actress Ashley Judd, the former Indy 500 winner holds a special place for Scotland in his heart, as he explains: “I'm very excited to share these driving itineraries with visitors touring Scotland by car.
