“The Racing Chef” Tempts the Racers’ Taste Buds
Typical race track food consists of hamburgers, hot dogs
and fries. They may be an American favorite, but not a diet that anyone would
thrive on day in and day out. Racing teams are no exception. They have to stay
on-site all day over the course of four days, so their dining choices are
limited.
That’s why Team Jegs has its own chef: Nicky Morse, aka “The Racing
Chef”. Chef Nicky can boast a gourmet kitchen that is second to none. It just
happens to be on wheels.
Nicky travels the United States with Jeg
Coughlin, Jr., from February to November, cooking lunch and dinner for anywhere
between 20 to 30 people. He specializes in French and Italian-style cooking and
all of his food is prepared at the track in the JEG'S customized
industrial-equipped kitchen. Hmm, wonder if he needs an assistant?
